Holly Marie Combs is an American actress who grew up in New York, and who started in front of the camera from an early age with print ads and commercials.
Her first onscreen credit was in 1988 with the film Sweet Hearts Dance, a rom-com starring Don Johnson and Susan Sarandon.
Holly had bit parts in several films before landing the starring role of Kimberly in the television series, Picket Fences.The show ran for 4 years, winning Holly critical acclaim and a Young Actors award.
It was Holly’s best friend Shannen Doherty, that told her about a new television show based around three sisters who happen to be witches. Holly auditioned for the middle sister, and won the role of Piper Halliwell in the series, Charmed. She wound up producing the show from season 5 onwards, and is the only cast member to appear in the unaired pilot and every episode of the series.
In 2010, Holly was cast in the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars as Ella Montgomery, the mother of one of the main characters, Aria Montgomery (played by Lucy Hale).
Holly is an avid supporter of the conservation organisation Sea Shepherd and has been active in supporting their campaigns.
