Kararua Art
Kararua is a collection of works by siblings Abigail and Caleb Rakete. Our works are wide-ranging and a bit eclectic, because that's how we create, jumping from one project to another, following whatever interesting thread presents itself. That's where our name, Kararua, comes from! Kararua are small purple sea snails that moves by letting the wind blow it across the ocean.
Abigail is an artist with pen, pencil, and pastel, creating our prints and cover art. Caleb is an author and digital artist, writing our stories and doing the layouts. Together, we have created everything Kararua has to offer:
Zines full of tales such as "When the Elves Invaded Auckland" or helpful advice, such as "how to encourage and excellent clover".
Hand drawn polaroids some with subtle fanart. Dark ink prints, or vibrant prints of flags and ghosts. Hand-painted canvases of worlds only visible to the imagination. Trading cards from the World of Heronui. Comics such as "My Silly Coming Out" and "Tales of the Brick Heroes".
And much more, as we follow where the wind carries!
