The All-Stars Cosplay Competition is a second chance at the major prize for anybody who has won a regional Best in Show, or a Best Open/Advanced, but never won a National Championship.
But there is a twist. One category. One round. One prize. Winner Takes All.
This competition is a 6 month construction competition, with competitors making monthly check-ins with the judging team, culminating in a final presentation on the main stage at Auckland Spring Armageddon in October.
Cosplay all Stars Competition Rules
Cosplays for the All-Stars Competition will be constructed in the 6 month construction period.
Competitors will have monthly check-ins on the 1st of every month during the construction period (6 in total). The judging team will use the photos and videos from these monthly check-ins to build hype around the competitors, and get the public excited to see their finished cosplays at the final presentation
Cosplays will be COMPLETED upon submission of construction diary 2 weeks before the main stage presentation. Diary submissions will also include extra photos and videos of the completed cosplay.
To be eligible for the All-Stars Cosplay Competition you must have a previous Best Open/Advanced, or Best in Show. You cannot have won the Cosplay Competition National Championship. No professional costumiers may take part in the contest; professional is defined as someone who earns money from working in a creative skill that is transferable to cosplay; for example, in makeup, film, clothing alterations etc.
