He recently finished shooting TOLKIEN for Fox Searchlight and Finnish director Dome Karukoski. Nick will portray the earlier life of famed writer J.R.R. Tolkien, which inspired the worlds created in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Nick most recently was in Australia shooting Justin Kurzel’s THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE KELLY GANG along with Russell Crowe and George MacKay, based on Peter Carey's novel about the story of Australian bush-ranger Ned Kelly and his gang as they flee from authorities during the 1870s – Nick will be playing Fitzpatrick, the local police officer leading the hunt for Ned.

Nick is currently shooting George Nolfi’s THE BANKER opposite Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie, before starring alongside Elle Fanning in Hulu/MRC’s pilot THE GREAT, detailing the rise to power of Catherine the Great and her explosive relationship with husband Peter, the emperor of Russia -- this will reunite Nick with acclaimed writer Tony McNamara of THE FAVOURITE.

Nicholas previously starred as “J.D. Salinger” in writer/director Danny Strong’s feature debut REBEL IN THE RYE, which IFC released last Fall. The film follows The Catcher in the Rye writer from his early days trying to establish his career in New York's literary circle in the early 1940's. Additionally, he recently reunited with writer/director Drake Doremus as the lead of THE NEWNESS for Scott Free that is currently streaming on Netflix.

Nick also starred in Drake Doremus’ film EQUALS, a futuristic drama written by Nathan Parker (MOON), alongside Kristen Stewart, which was distributed by A24, as well as the British independent film directed by Owen Harris KILL YOUR FRIENDS, based on the novel by the same name by John Niven about an A&R rep on a murder spree in 90s London.

Nick earned rave reviews for his incredible performance as “Nux” in the critically acclaimed MAD MAX: FURY ROAD from director George Miller for Warner Bros.

Nick’s previous credits include the box office hit and critically-acclaimed WARM BODIES for Summit and director Jonathan Levine. He also starred in the independent, science fiction drama YOUNG ONES opposite Michael Shannon and Elle Fanning for director, Jake Paltrow that premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
