Jeffrey Vincent Parise is an American mulit-diciplinarian artist. A true Renaissance man, Parise explores his self expression in a multitude of creative fields.
As an actor he currently plays Asmodeus, the 7th Prince of here on the long running hit television series Supernatural. Parise is also known for playing Carlos Rivera and his twin Dr. Joe Rivera for 3 1/2 years on the multi-Emmy award winning General Hospital, earning him a 2017 Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. Other notable television appearances include Mad Men, where Parise plays Vince the guru in the series finale. Parise utters the last spoken words of the iconic series. Parise also plays Carlos Camacho in season 2 of TBS’s hit comedy The Detour alongside Natalie Zea and show creator/star Jason Jones. Parise works with writer and show runner Rob Thomas on nearly every project Thomas puts on the air. They began their working relationship in the early stages of both of their careers with the critically acclaimed ABC show “Cupid”.
As well as his numerous television appearances, Parise has also appeared in over 40 films, including working with legendary filmmaker Wim Wenders on three separate occasions. One of which is alongside Tim Roth in “Don’t Come Knocking” written by and starring the late Sam Shapard. Most recently Parise starred alongside Samantha Robinson in Anna Biller’s 2017 critically acclaimed “The Love Witch”. The Love Witch has been heralded as a masterpiece of cinema by many film critics around the world and also made several “Best of 2017 movies”.
As a fine artist, Parise’s paintings hang in homes and galleries around the world. His book “Jeffrey Vincent Parise - a decade of paintings 2000-2010” was published by White Crow Publishing in 2011. It features hundreds of paintings over a 10 year period and also contains writing from Parise. It also features writing from many of the fascinating artists and people he paints. It explores the creatively intimate relationship between painter and subject.
As a self taught percussionist, Parise plays djembe and cajon with several different bands, circus troupes, fire troupes, and DJ’s around the world. In 2012 Parise appeared in the semi-final and final round of ABC’s America’s Got Talent playing the drumbrella with The William Earth Harp Collective, where they came in 3rd place.
As a filmmaker Parise wrote and directed a feature length documentary called “The Inlaws & the Outlaws” co-directed by Cree Summer. He has also written and directed several short documentaries and one narrative short film, which he also starred in called “Vincent & Lucian”. An 1800’s fantasy Faustian tale about a young artist finding his highest creative self. He is currently working on a short documentary called “Valentino”. An exploration between the friendship of a man and a wild blue scrub jay named Valentino.
