APPEARING AT CHRISTCHURCH AND DUNEDIN
COLIN WILSON – COMIC ARTIST – 2000AD
AUTOGRAPH SESSION TIMES – CHRISTCHURCH & DUNEDIN: 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm

After editing and publishing his own comic fanzine Strips, and co-creating New Zealand's first ecological superhero Captain Sunshine, Colin Wilson quickly understood that if he wanted to become a professional comic artist he needed to head overseas.

This was back in 1980, and soon his work for the UK weekly 2000AD regularly appeared alongside the likes of Dave Gibbons and Brian Bolland. But while most comic artists looked to the USA for work, Colin's eye turned to Europe, and moving to France in 1983 he began a 15-year career drawing his own series (Dans l'Ombre du Soleil) and realising a personal dream by drawing Blueberry: The Early Years alongside Jean Giraud (Moebius).

After publishing more the 16 titles in Europe, Colin moved to Australia in 1996, and while continuing to produce work for the European market (Tex, Du Plomb Dans La Tete and more work for 2000AD) his art on such series as The Losers, Battler Britton, Bionic Commando, Gears of War. The Rocketeer, and Star Wars has regularly appeared via various US comic publishers.

With work on the Star Wars: Invasion story arc for Dark Horse Comics now complete, Colin Wilson is currently completing the art for Martha, a book in the very successful European series XIII Mystery (Dargaud), before starting work on a new, original series for Delcourt.  The earlier European series Du Plomb Dans La Tete (published in the States as Bullet To The Head by Dynamite Entertainment) was optioned by Warner Bros, and the film starring Sylvester Stallone, Christian Slater and Jason Momoa) was release in April 2013.
