Bonnie Wright is an English actress, film director and model. She is best known for playing the role of Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, based on the Harry Potter novel series by British author J. K. Rowling.

Wright was born in London, England. Her debut performance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as Ron Weasley’s little sister Ginny Weasley. Bonnie tried out for the film due to her older brother Lewis mentioning she reminded him of Ginny. She attended London’s University of the Arts: London College of Communication, to study as a Film and Television Production Manager because of her plans to continue acting and to work behind-the-scenes after filming Harry Potter. In 2012 Wright graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Her role in the first Harry Potter film was a small cameo like role as Ginny, having bigger part in the second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. After shooting the first Potter film, in 2002 Bonnie did the Hallmark television film Stranded, playing Young Sarah Robinson. Then in 2004 after doing the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Bonnie was cast in Agatha Christie: A Life in Pictures, a BBC TV film as Young Agatha. Then Bonnie was back as Ginny Weasley for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, where her role turned supporting as Harry’s love interest.

In 2012 Wright made her Screenwriting debut at the Cannes Film Festival with her short film script Separate We Come, Separate We Go. She is currently in Post-Production Directing Medusa’s Ankles, a film based on the book by A.S. Byatt, starring FanX16 Alum Jason Isaacs.
