Can I bring a metal/functional/explosive/heavy wooden weapon to Armageddon?
NO. We must expressly ask that cosplayers do not bring weapons like this to conventions, as they run the risk of injuring other congoers. THIS INCLUDES AIRSOFT GUNS OF ANY KIND. It doesn’t matter how responsible you are – you can’t account for how other people will behave, and the above kinds of weapons can cause serious harm when something goes wrong even if they’re blunt. Yes, there are stalls that sell metal weapons at Armageddon Expo, but buyers are advised not to remove them from their packaging while at the expo, and those who do are asked to put it in their car or leave. People will be removed from the event if we deem their prop is a safety risk.
Armageddon Weapons Policy

I’m planning a Harley Quinn cosplay, and it just wouldn’t look complete without her iconic baseball bat. Can you make an exception?
Unfortunately no, we cannot make an exception for you, BUT we can direct you to the awesome Mighty Ape who at times have in stock an expo-safe inflatable Officially Licensed Harley Quinn batthat you would more than welcome to bring to the event! Visit this listing here or search for other available inflatable bats online:

Do I have to pay for any of the events on this site?
All you have to do is buy your ticket to the Armageddon Expo itself! At the time of writing, all events on this site are included in the cost of your ticket. Any exceptions will be explicitly stated on the page of that particular event.

Do I have to register beforehand if I want to cosplay at the event?
Only for specific events – the Cosplay Contest and Cosplay Parade both require pre-registration, and you can find out more about them on their respective pages. If you’re just roaming the halls in costume, no signup is required.

I want to cosplay, but I don’t know anyone else going – help!
Get involved with your local community! The Cosplay New Zealand Facebook group covers all NZ Armageddon events.

Can I take photos of the cosplayers at the event?
Well that’s up to them, isn’t it? We welcome people to take photos at the event, but it’s good etiquette to ask first! No one likes finding photos of themselves online with a face stuffed full of chips. Besides – you’ll get a better photo if you give the cosplayer the chance to pose properly for you and hide all their con swag.
