Want to strut your stuff but not have to compete? Got a costume that doesn't quite fit in with the guidelines of the Cosplay Cup? Then read on!
Not everyone wants to compete with their cosplay but still want to get on stage so Armageddon is giving those people the chance to get up there and show off!
When: Saturday afternoon, tbc in printed Schedules and Guidebook Apps.
Where: Main stage
What: Show your cosplay to the world! Well the Armageddon audience....
Prizes: none, except the adoration of your public.
This will be more relaxed and lighthearted than the contest and there will be no skits available. Be prepared for the MC to talk to you though and ask questions which you may answer in character.
And now for the rules!
1 There will be a sign up sheet at the information booth which will be available from when the doors open. There will be room to state your name, character and series and a little bit of trivia. This will close 1 hour prior to the Parade.
1a) You do not need to have made your costume, however please include this in the sign up.
1b) Original characters are allowed, please include any pertinent information on the sign up form.
2 Skits:
There will be no skits, but there will be the opportunity for interaction with the MC. Please be respectful. There will be a chance to pose, so make use of the time you have!
No lewd or objectionable behaviour or language will be accepted on the stage.
3 Safety:
3a) No acrobatics or weapon displays.
3b) Prop weapons cannot pose a risk to yourself, the organisers, the convention centre or the general public. So we ask that your props and weapons be made of materials that will not cause harm. This includes- but is not limited to- items that can cut or burn or are very heavy objects.
There will be a prop check at the side of the stage.
3bi) No real weapons (including but not limited to air guns and training weapons) or metal prop weapons are allowed in the contest.
3bii) No metal props or weapons allowed on stage. Small screws, hinges and bolts may be used to hold the prop together but must not be exposed.
3biii) Toy projectile props such as water pistols or nerf guns may be used so long as they are non-functioning.
3e) NO EXPLOSIVE OR INCENDIARY DEVICES TO BE USED- NO EXCEPTIONS.
3f) No mess is to be left on the stage, audience or judging area after your skit. No messy skits will be accepted. This includes but is not limited to food items.
3g) Choose body make up/paint carefully. Do not choose anything that will stain other guests and attendees. Remember to chose wisely for your own safety as some pigments or paints can be toxic.
3g) The event is billed as a family friendly event but does attract a varied audience so please choose a costume you will feel comfortable wearing in a large and diverse crowd.
Please email ARMAGEDDON.COSPLAY@GMAIL.COM if you have any questions.
