Welcome to the New Armageddon Website!

8th Novemember 2009 - Armageddon Melbourne 2009 hit the city like a storm, with record numbers for the expo (13,500) and filling three bays at the Melbourne exhibition centre. With a diverse mix of guests, most of whom were changed close to the event the end result was a truly spectacular weekend.

With the loss of virtually our entire comic line-up due to restructuring at DC, we were very lucky to get such top notch talent as Peter David and Greg Rucka to name a few.

As always the sci-fi line-up was a popular destination for most fans, with Stargate Ruling the event again. The inclusion of the Madman sponsored ‘Robot Chicken’ tour with Seth green, Matt Senreich and Tom Root proved exceptionally popular, with their panels full to capacity and an autograph queue on the Sunday stretching outside the entrance to the event and lasting three hours.

The addition of a larger anime/comic panel room worked well providing an area for more intimate panels and special events, including the Domino’s pizza eating and fear factor contests (getting sprayed with Milk vomit was something i wasn’t expecting).

With any event, there is still area’s to be refined, queuing will always be an issue, however while there are things to work on, this year’s event was a definite improvement from 2008.

Plans are well underway for 2010, which starts with our small one day event on March 21st at the Sydney Town hall, this will be a collectors fair with a few celebrity guests, just to dip our toes into the Sydney market, with plans for a full expo in 2011 in Sydney, then onto the Melbourne event on October 16/17th 2010, even bigger than 2009!
